I attended Emerson College, as a marketing communications major focusing on advertising and public relations with a minor in psychology. I was introduced to real world experiences, issues and problems and was pushed to my limit by people who are actively working in the industry.
In addition to my education, I’ve worked as a marketing assistant for Berkleemusic, the online extension school of Berklee College of Music, where I assist in the creation and development of our marketing content, including but not limited to promotional interview videos, email messaging and social media outreach. I’ve also held internships with: Fanscape Inc. as their digital promotions intern, RFB&D (Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic, which is now Learning Ally) as a press and promotions consultant and Catapult Thinking. My experiences stretch across a variety of different industries, from education to digital & traditional promotions all the way to healthcare.
I am an avid comics fan and aficionado. Over the course of 12 years, I have been actively building a collection of Japanese, American and independent comics content, a feat which lead me to start writing and critiquing books professionally for two years as a contributor to the now defunct, Popcultureshock’s Manga Recon. This experience exposed me to the inner workings of the publishing industry, pushed me to actively use Twitter as the main promotional tool for my writing, invigorated me to create & lead several panel discussions, appear on multiple podcasts and continue to write my reviews & opinions at A Life in Panels. My interests do not stop at just comics however. I am someone who likes to keep up with all facets of pop culture. Be it video game reviews for the newest Pokemon game, podcasts about secrets or the newest instructional video from How to Batman, I like to keep up with and contribute to this fantastically creative internet culture at my art and theory blog, Damage -> MP.
